Downloading and installing a language pack: To download a language pack, use the Download now button above. jDownloads comes with language packs for English and German already installed. If you are unsure how to install a language pack, the article Installing a jDownloads language pack in the documentation can help you. Information for contributors The most important and largest files are the three for the component: - admin-com_jdownloads, which is used by the administrator in the backend - admin-com_jdownloads_sys, also used in the backend - site-com_jdownloads, which is important for users in the frontend. A translation of these three files should be sufficient for most purposes. The translation files for the modules and plugins are much shorter. If you have any further questions, please use the support forum. If you are interested in helping with the translation of jDownloads, you will need the following to complete a language file or start a new translation: - a good knowledge of both English and your native language; - some experience in translating Joomla! language files would be helpful; - register with Transifex and enter your details in a Transifex profile so that users know who is responsible for a translation; - apply to form or join a team for your language; - keep an eye on the translations, as the base translation is updated from time to time.
