Introduction

Metatags and Meta Descriptions increase the 'rating' of the jDownload Category or Download  for search engines.  That is they increase Search Engine Optimsation so that the Category or Download has a higer 'ranking' and, as a result, they are listed higher than similar items with no ranking.
When they are set JDownloads adds relevant information to the header section of your Categories and Downloads that, in effect, gives them a  favourable likelyhood of being listed higher by Search Engines.
Note 1 Rather than refering to 'Categories and Downloads', in ths article only 'Downloads' will be used.  That is it is to be inferred that a reference to a Download also implies Categories and Downloads.
Note 2 As well as jDownloads adding Metatags, Joomla also adds relevant Metatags.

In this example it is assumed that the Author Usergroup will be creating/editting Downloads in the backend.

On the V4 button Home Dashboard click on V4 button components. Next click on V4 button jDownloads and then on V4 button user groups setting.   Next click on V4 author user groupp.
